AlexanderMcQueen Show at Metropolitan Museum

I went to McQueen's show "Savage Beauty" yesterday. Got there at 8:30am and got into at around 12pm...crazy!!

The show was very very beautiful. So many materials for any kinds of creators. Must See!!

The show will be opened by 9pm on Aug 5th(Fri), and by Midnight Aug 6th and 7th(Sat and Sun.) GOGO!

The Best Brown Rice

SMELLS SO GOOD!!!

  

I bought a bag of new kind of brown rice at SUNRISE MART in East Village. 

It's a great great Japanese super market. You can get everything imported from Japan. Cheapest place for Japanese Tofu. Check it out.

OMG, this rice is great...it's called HAIGA BROWN RICE. 

They took outside of rice but kept the most nutritious part. So the taste is very close to delicious white rice and much nutritious than white rice. Well, I had heard of it, but never tried it before. So now I know it's true. It's really good. And not so pricey.


Check it out when you are around the area. It's the 2ns floor in the building.

Rabitt Manjyu--(Japanese Sweets)

I cooked ANKO the other day, which is red bean paste. Often Japanese traditional sweets has it inside or outside.

I made MANJYU, which is very popular Japanese traditional snack. You make dough with flour, sugar
and water. Make balls from it and flatten them with hands. Wrap balls of ANKO with the flattened dough. Then steam them.

I draw eyes and ears on the steamed MANJYU with heated folks. Then they became rabbits! You know, this is the Year of Rabbit in Chinese astrology. All my friends love my sweet rabbits!

Cafe at Sunrise Mart in Midtown, NY

And my new paintings!

There is a cafe upstairs at "Sunrise Mart", a Japanese Super Market in Midtown.

You can buy snacks, drinks, breads and lunchboxes at the deli downstairs and come upstairs to sit down and eat. There are about 15 tables and 30 chairs. Cozy and nice space to chat with friends, take rest or just eat a quick lunch.

So where is the "cafe"? There is a counter space which serves Japanese traditional sweets like ANMITSU, Green Tea Barvarian Cream, Japanese soda with vanilla ice cream, daily dessert, green tea,  coffee, etc. The food is homemade by the owner of the cafe. You can even enjoy SAPPORO, Japanese beer,  with 5 dollars! Good to know!
