Steamed Salmon

I bought a piece of salmon the other day and decided to steam it. I have a Chinese steamer at my kitchen.

Oh My Gosh...it was so good...it was so easy to prepare and took only 20 mins including preparation but the result was gorgeous. Steamed salmon is so juicy and no need for seasoning. I put some leafs of cabbage and slices of carrot under salmon while steaming. They are also great.

Steaming is one of the healthiest and easiest way of cooking. I totally recommend it!

Avocado and Cilantro rice bowl

I love Avocado and Cilantro! I invented this beautiful rice bowl tonight...it's very simple, but so delicious!! I put some garlic soy sauce on top, which I prepared two years ago. It makes the best result with avocado. You can add lemon juice on top if desire. Oh, I love this!

The Best Umbrella in the city

Raining NYC is one of the worst thing in the world. Dirty water everywhere, angry faces everywhere, and broken umbrellas everywhere! Umbrellas in U.S can do nothing about violent NYC's rain. They are so easy to be blew up by the wind through buildings and you'll have only silver bones when you open your eyes.

So, I got my new umbrella in Uniqlo! It's cheap($7.50) and light but very tough. It's like my dear friend in rain. Go check and get one! You will love love love it!!

Yoga at Key Stone Studio

Sometimes I go to my friend's Tomomi Ishimura's Yoga class.

She teaches Yoga at Key Stone studio twice a week. She explains why you take the poses, how they work, why they are good for your body and mind in Japanese. It's very reasonable price, too. Go to charge yourself if you need more energy!

What if I got cavity in NYC?

What if I got cavity in NYC?

Answer #01: Wait until you go back to your country.
#02: Go to a general dentist in your neighborhood.

My answer is Going to NYUCD, New York University College of Dental clinic. You get cheap and good treatment by students who study at NYUCD and their professors.

Last week, I got free treatment for one of my tooth as the student wanted to use my teeth as her final exam. It was nice to have a free treatment, but it started at 7:30 am and it took more than 4 hours. I need to keep opening my mouth for almost 4 hours...OMG. However, it was pretty funny experience to face to other patients who were also there for other students' exams. We laughed at each other.

Beef and Vegetable Soup with Millets

I love millets, especially Amaranthus and Quinua as they have great nutrition and funny texture. My recent hit recipe is "Beef and vegetable soup" with them.

Beef and vegetable soup with millets

Preparation :
thin slices of beef (cut into small pieces. 100g)
spinach(cut into medium pieces. A bunch)
carrot(1/2)(Cut into round slices)
millets(whatever you like)
water(3cups)
soy souse(2TBS)
chicken or beef soup stock(1cup)
olive oil(1TBS)
salt and pepper

To cook:
1. Put oil in a pot and star beef with salt and pepper.
2. Star carrot and spinach.
3. Pour water and bring to boil. Take the form out.
4. Put soup stock and millets. Simmer for about 15 mins until millets get soft.
5. Put soy souse and check the taste.

*Snowmen in the Union Square Park*

I saw a big snowman and other little guys in USQ. They looked like some kind of symbol of people's pray for the world. A lot of people were taking pictures of them. I liked New York like this.

Banana Cheese Melt

I had "Banana Cheese Melt" for my breakfast.

I used to eat Tuna Cheese Melt a lot, but not any more as I'm afraid of taking mercury in my body. Instead, I make this one as the substitution. It's almost like eating a pizza, but it's much healthier and lighter with the same happiness of melting cheese!

*Banana Cheese Melt*******************************

Preparation: 1/2 Bagel or breads, 1/2 ripe banana, cheese you love, yogurt (if desired)

1. Put your 1/2 bagel on a microwavable plate. Cut banana in round slices and place them on bagel.

2. Put some yogurt on banana slices. Sprinkle cheese on top of them.

3. Microwave 2 until cheese is melted, about 1.5 mins.
